Mother’s and Mentor’s Day Luncheon

Park Club caters this special luncheon honoring moms and mentors. Ladies’ Library Association member Linda Coppens will speak about inspiring women from her book What American Women Did, 1789-1920. An LLA commemorative candle will be our gift to you from the Kalamazoo Candle Company (sponsor of the day).
Cost is $25 payable by May 6. Must be paid by check mailed to the LLA or on Eventbrite at https://llamothersday.eventbrite.com

About the Ladies’ Library Association
The LLA grew from a reading and sewing circle started in 1844. In 1852, circle members formally organized as the Ladies’ Library Association, the first women’s club established in the State of Michigan and the third in the nation. The LLA sponsored lectures and cultural events and the first circulating library in the region. From 1878 to 1879, the LLA constructed its building on Park Street, the first building in the nation completely planned, built, funded, and owned by a women’s
