KALAMAZOO — Ecumenical Senior Center (ESC) is hosting its Fashion Show on Shoestring Budget on Saturday, Aug. 24, with the fashion show from 4 to 5:30 p.m., followed by a dance until 8 p.m.
Contestants will show two outfits, one formal and one casual, spending no more than $30 total, which includes accessories. Each guest to the event will be given a ballot to vote for their choice of best outfits and overall presentation.
“This is a unique twist on a long tradition of fashion shows at the Ecumenical Senior Center,” says Executive Director Tim Barnes. “Who knows how to shop on a shoestring budget better than seniors. Join us and vote on your favorite contestants while supporting a great cause.”
The event is open to people of all ages.
Tickets for the fundraising event, to be held at ESC on 702 North Burdick Street in Kalamazoo, are $20 per person in advance or $25 at the door. Tickets are available by calling the ESC at 269-381-9750, by going online at www.ecumenicalsc.com
or at the door. For those unable to attend, ESC is encouraging supporters to purchase tickets and donate them back to ESC to allow a greater number of seniors to attend the event.
Sponsorships to support the event are still available, ranging from $100 to $1,000.
All proceeds support the ESC and their continued efforts to engage the community in promoting positive aging to the senior population living in and around Kalamazoo.
