Kalamazoo, Mich. Kids Day is happening every day at the Kalamazoo County Youth Fair with a different theme and free giveaways for families to enjoy! The Fair is sponsored by Zoetis.
The fun starts with Science Day on Tuesday, August 6 featuring the Mad Science demonstrations, a Virtual Reality experience, and kids will receive a free Play-doh.
Wednesday, August 7 is Fairytale Day featuring the Once Upon a Prince & Princess show and Tea Party. Her Majesty’s Royal Guard Combat Troupe will perform at 7pm in the Grandstand. Kids will also receive a free teacup sipper or rubber duck.
Planes, Trains & Automobiles Day will be held on Thursday, August 8 with a free Hot Wheels car or a Build-A-Car kit for kids. The AirZoo will have their F16 Flight Simulator, or take a ride on the trolley bus, and don’t miss “The World’s Smallest Airshow” in the Grandstand at 5pm.
Friday, August 9 is Buzz About Books Day featuring programming by local libraries, a beekeeping demo, a Fortnite tournament, and a Hands On Robotics demo. Kids will receive free books.
And rounding out the week on Saturday, August 10 the Lost Nations Rodeo will take place in the Grandstand at 7:30pm for Western Day! The Rodeo is free with paid fair admission and is sponsored by Meijer and The Buckham Agency. Kids can dress up with a free cowboy hat or western mask. Live music will also be happening all day on the Kalamazoo Music Stage. A Veteran’s Expo will take place from 12-3pm and free admission will be granted to veterans, serviceman and their immediate family with military ID.
In addition to all of the theme day activities for kids, the Kalamazoo County Fair provides a free Kids Zone with activities and entertainment every day, all day. Kalamazoo County 4-H will have hundreds of farm animals, educational displays, and exhibits. There is an antique tractor display, pony rides, live music and much more!
If the kids are looking for some thrill rides, Maple Leaf Amusements will provide Midway rides Tuesday-Friday from 12pm-9pm and Saturday from 11am-9pm. Pre-sale one-day unlimited ride wristbands are on sale now through August 5 for a discounted price of $10.00 each. Wristbands can be purchased at Kalamazoo area Harding’s stores or the County Parks office.
The Kalamazoo County Youth Fair runs August 6-10 and is open from 9am-9pm daily. Admission is $6.00 per adult, $2.00 per children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under with a paid adult. Parking is also free.
