KALAMAZOO, MI- Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancersis excited to announce the dates for their 39th season which will begin in September. In addition to our time-honored seasonal offerings, which includes a fall and spring concert series and the Regional Alternative Dance Festival, we are also delighted to bring to life some new collaborations with organizations in the community.
Ms. Cori Terry, Artistic Director and Founder of Wellspring says of the fall season, “We promise, as we have for the last 38 years, a concert of original new works by me and select company members, danced by our highly trained professional company of athletic and deeply poetic dancers, to surprising choices of contemporary music spanning many genres, and inspired choreography that moves and excites people in fresh ways. In other words, modern dance at its essence: rooted in tradition and expansive in its reach!”
Kicking off our season is an exciting workshop with Mark DeChiazza. DeChiazza, of New York, is a director, filmmaker, designer, and choreographer. His projects often explore interactions between music performance and media to discover new expressive possibilities bringing together composers, ensemble, and musicians with visual artists, dancers, music ensembles, and makers of all types. The workshop will take place on Thursday, September 19th.
