Podcasts: February Edition

For those new to podcasts: welcome. Podcasts are a digital audio files available for downloading to a computer or mobile device. Available on iTunes (for Apple users) or Google Play, Spotify, Stitchr, Podcast Addict (for Android users). They are typically available as a series, which can be received by subscribers automatically. Podcasts are one of the quickest growing forms of entertainment. With 525,000 active podcasts and over 18.5 million episodes, it is safe to say that podcasts are here to stay.

Master Weight Loss Coach, Corinne, helps you cut through your excuses that keep you from losing weight. What makes her an expert? She lost 100lbs after a lifetime of obesity. Up and Vanished is a two-season investigative podcast that explores unsolved disappearances Season 1 follows the story of Georgia beauty queen and high school teacher, Tara Grinstead while Season 2 tells the story of missing Colorado mom, Kristal Reisinger. Follow along as host Payne Lindsey, a filmmaker turned amateur investigator, examines old case evidence and re-interviews persons of interest.

One host has a wonderful Minnesotan accent that makes me smile; trends sometimes seem ridiculous, but once you hear these ladies and the people in their lives put self-help books into action, you can decide whether it may be valuable to apply some of this ‘advice’ or if the initial impression of this new trend being ridiculous was correct.

This fresh podcast blends tough topics with some comic relief. The hosts and their inside jokes are absolutely fabulous. A former sommelier, Levi Dalton, interviews famous and knowledgeable wine personalities in his tiny apartment. He gets them to talk candidly about their lives and work, and then shares the conversations with you. Uncork your favorite bottle of wine and enjoy this fun and informative podcast.

Tenderfoot TV in a partnership with HowStuffWorks dives into one of the most haunting, notorious, unsolved serial killing sprees in history. Payne Lindsay (from Up and Vanished) looks at the sketches, cyphers and taunting letters to the press in hopes of answering the question: who is the Zodiac?
